Geelani barred from attending Urdu Book Fair function at KU | KNO

Srinagar, June 21 (KNO) : Authorities on Friday morning disallowed Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani to reach Kashmir University to participate in a Urdu Book Fair function. The forces present outside Geelani’s residence didn’t allow him to move towards KU, sources told KNO. Notably, Geelani is under house detention since long. Ealrier, Geelani had on Thursday accepted the invitation of Kashmir University students for Urdu Book Fair programme. Geelani was scheduled to leave from his residence tomorrow (i.e. 21 June, Friday) at 10 a.m. morning. “Urdu book fair has been organized in the Kashmir University and the students of KU have invited All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani on 21 June 2019 at 11:00 Friday,” the statement issued to KNO had said. While thanking students for their invitation in Book Fair, Hurriyat Chairman accepted the invitation and is scheduled to leave from his residence tomorrow (i.e. 21 June, Friday) at 10 a.m. morning, it added.(KNO)
